Spaces: Lone Flag
San Diego is full of eclectic neighborhoods, each with their own unique taste. If you've been around the city, you know there's much more out there, especially in the surrounding towns. We decided to pay a visit to the buddies over at Lone Flag to check out their space.
"Lone Flag is a concept space dedicated to providing access to premium products and lifestyle goods that are made well with a core emphasis on made in USA and made in Japan denim. We believe fit, form, and function reign supreme."
We had the pleasure of meeting Sam, founder of Lone Flag, a couple of years ago over coffee. After launching Unsettle, we knew we had to hit up Lone Flag to let them know and they welcomed us with open arms.
It was great meeting the team and on this day, we caught up with Dre and Keng, who both run the day-to-day operations of Lone Flag.
This is Dre. He's a pretty rad guy. We got around to talking about his start in Lone Flag and if he checked out Kendrick Lamar's newest album, DAMN. Luckily, he did and so we stuck around and just listened to a couple of tracks in store.
If you didn't know, Lone Flag is the first store to help support us and put our product up. If you're ever in the San Diego/Del Mar area, definitely swing by and check out our Commuter Roll-Top Backpack now on display in their stores. We're forever grateful for their support.
All around the store, you'll find quality Made-in-the-USA goods from brands ranging from Carhartt WIPP to Lone Flag's own line of quality tees.
If you didn't know how Unsettle&Co got started, we began as a premium handcrafted leather goods brands and slowly branched out into other goods. You can read more about this in our first ever behind-the-scenes: Unsettle&Company roots.
This is where we drew a relation to Keng. Keng got his start into denim by trial and error. Spending years learning how a sewing machine works and what hemming is all about (p.s. it ain't no joke), Keng slowly refined his skills in producing quality hems for Lone Flag's denim selections.
Attention to detail is what we're all about. You can totally see the concentration on Keng's side face as he showed us his process.
While snapping some shots for our spaces feature, Dre and Keng sparked some pretty interesting conversations about starting a business, something we definitely relate to here at Unsettle. No matter what, we all agreed that there is no better time in your life to pursue what you want than now. When you make that decision to follow your gut, it's likely that your decision will pay off in ways you can't even imagine.
As for us, we're just happy to have the opportunity to have our gear in stock in their store.

With more and more brands popping out, we can't forget the creativity coming out of San Diego. Lone Flag definitely appreciates the stories behind quality brands and luckily, they believed in us enough to give us a chance.
The space itself is sort of a hole-in-the-wall place. No flashy signs. No sign spinners standing outside. You know when you walk in that you'll walk about having some of the most friendly and authentic service you can get in this part of town.
We checked out some of the tees Lone Flag has in store. Quality stuff forsure. It's made in California so you know it can't disappoint.
A blend of classic American wear with influences of surf culture is the perfect way to describe the space. Simply a solid representation of what we got going on in San Diego. From reclaimed wood shelving to made-in-Japan products scattered around, Lone Flag provides an eclectic assortment of goods you wouldn't know you needed until you visited their store.
Thanks to Sam, Dre, and Keng for having us over and stocking our gear. We're stoked to see them continue their journey and glad to be a part of such a positive and welcoming community.check out more spaces
