Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Chino California which is a small suburb about 45 minutes east of Los Angeles.
When did you get into photography and why?
My introduction to photography was really through my parents who had a bunch of photo albums from when they used to take photos when they were dating and when my siblings and I were much younger. A lot of those early albums are photos of beautiful, empty California landscapes from the 70s and 80s. After my siblings and I were born my parents changed their attention to photographing us kids. I have a lot of early memories looking through those albums.
I didn't actually start taking photos till I was 15 though. My brother and I took a day trip up the California coast to go surfing. He loaded me the camera with a couple fresh rolls of Kodak Portra 400 and the rest is history.
Where would you say is the best place to shoot?
I don't really think that there is a "best place" to shoot. I'm always excited and curious to shoot in new places and meet new people. I'm not really interested in finding the "best place" as much as finding a new experience.
Coffee or tea?
Whats your morning ritual look like?
It really depends on where I am or what I'm getting into that morning. Usually coffee and emails. Check the surf report then get on with my day.
How would you describe your shooting style?
What type of music do you listen to? What is your favorite song now?
I listen to a lot of different types of music. Everything from Jazz and hiphop to Country, Psych Rock, classical, some top 40s and everything in between.
I've been pretty into that new The XX album - it's good on the headphones.
Any big plans/projects in the future you'd like our audience to know about?
I'm working on a book.Check Out More Snapshots
